According to the report from the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, the
traffic order and safety situation in the province remained generally stable
during the At Ty Lunar New Year holiday. Traffic on all national highways and
expressways was mostly smooth, with no unexpected or complicated incidents
occurring. Traffic accidents saw a significant decrease across all three
criteria compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, no railway, inland
waterway, or particularly serious traffic accidents were recorded, with most
incidents being minor collisions.
During the
nine-day Tet holiday (from the 26th day of the lunar December to
11:00 AM on the 5th day of Tet), the province recorded 15 traffic
accidents, resulting in 3 deaths and 8 injuries. Compared to the same period in
2024, this represents a decrease of 6 accidents (-28.6%), 1 fewer fatality
(-25.0%), and 14 fewer injuries (-63.6%).
Most
traffic accidents occurred on roadways and were primarily caused by motorcycles
and motorbikes (11 out of 15 cases). The main reasons were violations of
traffic laws by vehicle operators, such as failing to stay in the correct lane,
improper overtaking, and incorrect turning or maneuvering.
During the
nine-day Tet holiday, no traffic accidents were recorded in three localities:
La Gi Town, Ham Tan District, and Phu Quy District. Notably, the province did
not experience prolonged traffic congestion on major roads or at BOT toll
stations. On expressways passing through the province, temporary congestion
occurred at certain times before Tet (from January 25 to January 26, 2025) due
to high traffic volumes. Additionally, a traffic collision was recorded on the
Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway.
