Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated in a number of provinces across the
country, affecting the economy, in which the tourism industry has suffered
great difficulties and losses. In October, the service and tourism industry
continuously showed sharp decline in both revenue and arrivals over the same
period. Travel agencies faced to many difficulties, tours are temporarily
suspended.
According to the
Statistics Office, the number of tourists in the month is estimated at 6.4
thousand, increased by 1.54% over the previous month and decreased by 98% over
the same period in 2020; number of guest staying days is estimated at 14.7
thousand days, increased by 1.89% over the previous month and decreased by 98%
over the same period in 2020. Accumulated in 10 months of 2021, the number of
tourists is estimated at 1,757 thousand arrivals, decreased by 28% over the
same period in 2020, the number of guest staying days is estimated at 3,056
thousand days, decreased by 30% over the same period in 2020.
The number of
international visitors increased slightly compared to the previous month,
estimated at 450 arrivals, increased by 2.2% over the previous month and
decreased by 86% over the same period in 2020; The number of guest staying days
is estimated at 1.9 thousand days, increased by 2.4% over the previous month
and decreased by 91% compared to the same period last year. Accumulation for 10
months of 2021 is estimated to reach 21.6 thousand arrivals, decreased by 87%
over to the same period in 2020; the number of guest staying day is estimated
at 82.3 thousand days, decreased by 86% over the same period in 2020.
Revenue from tourism
in the month was estimated at VND 45.9 billion VND, increased by 2.6% over the
previous month and declined by 94.7% over the same period in 2020. Accumulation
for 10 months of 2021 is estimated at 4,042 billion VND, decreased by 46.8%
over the same period in 2020.
