Tourism development in accordant with ecosystem protection at Hon Cau Marine Protected Area

Cau Marine Protected Area is established under Decision No. 2606/QD-UBND dated
November 15, 2010 of the Provincial People's Committee with an area of 12,500
ha, of which the marine area is 12,360 ha. At the same time, the Provincial
People's Committee also established the Hon Cau Marine Protected Area
Management Board to organize and manage activities in the marine protected area
according to regulations. Over the past time, the Management Board of Hon Cau
Marine Protected Area has coordinated with relevant authorities and localities
to seriously implement patrolling, protecting, preventing and strictly handling
illegal acts, contributing to the conservation of marine biodiversity and
resources in marine protected areas.
In 2020, the Provincial People's
Committee issued a Decision approving the Management Plan of Hon Cau Marine
Protected Area setting goals to 2024; accordingly, the Management Board of Hon
Cau Marine Protected Area and related units have pushed forward to strengthen
communication and propaganda on the protection of the marine protected area;
organizing patrolling, controlling, preventing and handling violations in
marine protected area; equipping trash cans and garbage collection tools,..;
strengthening professional training for marine conservation managers.
It can be said that over the past
time, Hon Cau Marine Protected Area has been effectively implemented by the
units, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity, marine ecosystems and
aquatic resources, creating sustainable livelihoods for the community living
legally around the marine protected area.
