Statistics Office, in the first four months of 2025, the Index of Industrial
Production (IIP) of the province increased by 0.77% compared to the same period
last year.
In April 2025 alone, the overall industrial production
index is estimated to have increased by 1.56% compared to the previous month
but decreased by 0.16% year-on-year. Specifically: the mining industry rose by
35.78% compared to the same period last year; the manufacturing and processing
industry increased by 10.89%; the production and distribution of electricity,
gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning decreased by 3.83%; and the water
supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment industry increased by
1.83%.
Cumulatively for the first four months of 2025, the
overall industrial production index rose by 0.77% year-on-year. Of which, the
mining industry grew by 1.16%; the manufacturing and processing industry rose
by 12.02%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water,
steam, and air conditioning dropped by 2.39%; and the water supply, waste and
wastewater management and treatment industry increased by 3.5%.
Among the industrial sectors, several recorded high
growth in production index over the same period last year, contributing
significantly to the overall growth of the industry: Frozen shrimp production
reached an estimated 752.56 tons, up 49.5% year-on-year; sparkling mineral
water reached 7.69 million liters, up 15.64%; shirt production reached 7,635.5
thousand pieces, up 19.64%; footwear production reached 1,899.7 thousand pairs,
increasing 2.3 times over the same period due to expanded capacity at Nam Ha
Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd.
Regarding the labor utilization index, April saw an
increase of 1.48% compared to the previous month and 6.52% year-on-year. For
the first four months of 2025, the labor utilization index rose by 5.68%; of
which, the manufacturing and processing industry increased by 8.73%; the water
supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment industry increased by
7.74%; the mining industry decreased by 24.7%; and the production and
distribution of electricity sector decreased by 0.09%.
By type of enterprise, the labor utilization index in
April for state-owned enterprises decreased by 3.35% year-on-year; non-state
enterprises increased by 6.55%; and foreign-invested enterprises rose by 9.64%.
