Phan Thiet strengthens efforts to prevent and combat the harmful effects of alcohol and beer

(binhthuan.gov.vn) To enhance the leadership and direction role of heads of agencies, units, and localities in implementing and enforcing the Law on Prevention and Control of the Harms of Alcohol and Beer; promote the responsibility and exemplary compliance with the law by officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, and armed forces in performing duties and daily life; raise public awareness and law compliance; and contribute to political stability and social order in the area, the People’s Committee of Phan Thiet city has issued a plan to implement alcohol and beer harm prevention activities in 2025.

Besides strengthening management, inspection, monitoring, and handling violations related to the enforcement of the Law on Prevention and Control of the Harms of Alcohol and Beer, Phan Thiet will also vigorously promote dissemination, education, and implementation of the law effectively, starting from state agencies, armed forces, and extending to the community.

Accordingly, the locality will organize a campaign for signing commitments between agencies, units and their officials, civil servants, employees to strictly comply with regulations prohibiting drinking alcohol and beer at the workplace; not drinking before, during, or during breaks at work; and not drinking before or while operating vehicles. At the same time, measures to reduce alcohol and beer consumption will be implemented such as: designating alcohol-free areas; managing alcohol and beer promotions and advertisements; regulating sponsorships by alcohol and beer businesses.

Additionally, the plan includes management of alcohol and beer production and business; preventing and handling counterfeit or poor-quality alcohol, smuggled or unclear-origin alcohol and beer; enhancing inspection and sanctions on alcohol intoxication in drivers to reduce traffic accidents caused by alcohol consumption…
