Many enterprises face difficulties in the first quarter of 2025

(binhthuan.gov.vn) A recent survey on business
performance conducted by the Provincial Statistics Office shows that the
majority of enterprises continued to face difficulties in Q1/2025.
In the manufacturing and processing
sector, 25.76% of surveyed enterprises reported improved business conditions
compared to the previous quarter; 43.94% reported more difficulties; and 30.3%
saw no change.
By type of ownership: Non-state
enterprises: 23.64% improved, 47.27% remained unchanged, and 29.09% faced more
difficulties; FDI enterprises: 40% improved, 20% remained unchanged, and 40%
worsened; State-owned enterprises generally reported positive performance.
Key factors negatively affecting
business in Q1/2025 include: Low domestic demand: 51.52%; Low international
demand: 28.79%; High domestic competition: 59.09%; High competition from
imported goods: 9.09%; Shortage of raw materials: 33.33%; Labor recruitment
challenges: 18.18%; Outdated technology: 9.09%; High loan interest rates:
25.76%; Financial difficulties: 18.18%; Limited access to credit: 1.52%; Legal/policy-related
reasons: 4.55%;
Outlook for Q2/2025: 77.27% of
businesses expect business conditions to improve or remain stable (46.97%
better, 30.3% stable); 22.73% anticipate further difficulties.
Industrial production and
consumption indexes: The consumption index of the manufacturing and processing
industry in March decreased by 2.90% compared to February but increased 2.86% year-on-year;
Cumulative Q1 consumption index rose by 16.14% year-on-year; Inventory index in
March increased by 3.67% compared to February but decreased 10.50%
year-on-year.
Sectors with increased consumption
in Q1: Beverages: +8.17%; Leather and related products: +56.88%; Paper and
paper products: +67.08%; Apparel production: +22.52%; Wood processing
(excluding furniture): +39.71%; Furniture: +8.19%; Food processing: +6.54%; Printing
and reproduction: +6.10%; Non-metallic mineral products: +9.37%.
Sectors with decreased consumption: Chemicals
and chemical products: -18.08%; Pharmaceuticals and medicinal chemicals:
-13.54%; Rubber and plastic products: -7.32%; Fabricated metal products
(excluding machinery/equipment): -23.21%./.
