0.44% increase in February CPI

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Petrol prices increase according to world fuel prices; Increased prices of food, beverages and transportation services during the Lunar New Year were the main reasons for the consumer price index (CPI) in February 2022 to increase by 0.44% over the previous month.

According to the Provincial Statistics Office, CPI in February increased by 0.44% over the previous month, 0.80% compared to December last year, 2.81% compared to the same month last year, the average of the first 2 months of the year increased by 3.49% over the same period last year.

Compared to the previous month, in 11 groups of main consumer goods and services, there were 08 groups of goods with increased price: Traffic increased by 2.51%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.41%; Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 0.35%; Other goods and services increased by 0.28%; Food and catering services increased by 0.27%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.21%; Garment and footwear increased by 0.13%; Appliances and household appliances increased by 0.10%. There were 03 stable commodity groups: medicine and medical services; postal and telecommunications; education.

The factors that increased CPI in the first 2 months of the year were the increase in gasoline prices, the domestic gasoline price increased by 45.3% on the average over the same period last year. Domestic gas prices fluctuated according to world gas prices, increased by 18.64% over the same period last year. The increase in the price of input materials caused the price of housing maintenance materials to increase by 7.77%. February coincides with the Lunar New Year which has caused an increase in the group of food and beverage services./.
