the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Science and Technology has
coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department
of Industry and Trade to review the province's best-selling OCOP products in
the Vietnamese market. Through the review, the departments agreed to nominate 4
OCOP products of the province (all with 4-star quality) to participate in the
program "Journey to seek and promote TOP-BEST best-selling OCOP products
in the Vietnam of 63 provinces.
Accordingly, on February 15, 2023, Binh
Thuan Department of Science and Technology officially requested the Vietnam
Record Institute to consider and record TOP-BEST for 4 products of the province
selling best in Vietnam (2022 - 2023). Recommended OCOP products of the
province include dragon fruit wine of Ham Duc Dragon Fruit Cooperative, Ham
Thuan Bac district; Thai dried apricot fish, rimmed tamarind squid of Dam Sen
Seafood Processing Trading Co., Ltd., Phan Thiet city and Bao Long dragon fruit
juice from Bao Long production - trade - service establishment, Phu Long town , Ham Thuan
Bac district.
Previously, Ham Duc Dragon Fruit
Cooperative achieved total revenue in the domestic market of 701.5 million VND from
dragon fruit wine and 773.5 million VND from fresh dragon fruit in 2022. Thai dried
apricot fish products have sold over 16,420 kg, the biggest market was Tri Hai Company. The quantity of
rimmed tamarind squid products
consumed 27,222 kg, most consumed at Big C supermarket system. Bao Long
production - trade - service establishment has sold 90,000 bottles of juice, equivalent to
45,000 liter.
OCOP products of the province are proposed to set a best-selling record
in the Vietnamese market
The Vietnam Record Institute is a unit
under the Vietnam Record Association. In 2022, the Vietnam Record Institute was sponsored by
the Vietnam Record Organization and received the copyright of the World BEST
Institute to launch the Journey to seek and promote TOP-BEST OCOP certified products that are selling well on the
Vietnamese market of 63 provinces (2022 - 2023). This is a journey to support
units, subjects, businesses, mass organizations in order to find, recognize,
promote and honor products that bring high economic value as well as the
achievements that organizations have achieved on the way of formation and
development.
The purpose of this journey is to help
localities as well as businesses to awaken the potentials and strengths of the
raw material area and labor use of the localities, especially the regional specialty products.
From there, helping the units understand the advantages and opportunities to develop
and exploit the value of products associated with traditional culture and
natural conditions, contributing to the transformation of production in the
direction of increasing scale associated with value chain, improving income for
local workers.
