929 violations handled in the first week of the peak campaign against crime crackdown and suppression

According to the Provincial Public Security, during the peak campaign to crack
down on crime and ensure security and order for the 2025 Lunar New Year, the
police forces across the province have intensified efforts in combating various
types of crime, conducting traffic patrols, and achieving many positive
results.
Accordingly, within just the first week of the campaign, the police forces
investigated and handled 51 cases related to social order crimes, arresting 80
suspects. Many cases that had caused public concern were promptly detected and
addressed, including: Breaking up a case of illegal trading and storing of
fireworks in Đức Linh District, seizing over 422 kilograms of fireworks and
successfully preventing the illegal storage and sale of fireworks during the
Tet holiday; the Drug Crime Investigation Police Division, in coordination with
Phan Thiết City Police and other functional units, successfully intercepted a
large shipment of drugs being transported from Ho Chi Minh City to Bình Thuận
Province for distribution, seizing 2 kilograms of methamphetamine; Bắc Bình
District Police successfully disrupted a group of individuals organizing the
illegal use of narcotics and resisting law enforcement, confiscating various
dangerous weapons and related evidence;…
The police
also encouraged the voluntary surrender of 18 homemade guns, 46 rudimentary
weapons, 2 support tools, 207 bullets of various types, 3 explosives, and 1
kilogram of explosive materials. This effort not only helps to reduce the risk
of accidents but also contributes to creating a safer living environment for people.
Traffic
order and safety were also prioritized during the campaign. The traffic police
conducted 332 patrols and inspections, involving nearly 1,000 officer shifts.
As a result, 929 violations were detected, recorded, and subjected to
administrative fines, generating over 1.6 billion VND in penalties.
Additionally, 102 driver's licenses were revoked, and hundreds of violating
vehicles were temporarily seized.
In the
coming time, the provincial police force will continue to maximize resources,
vehicles, and measures to effectively implement the peak campaign on crime
suppression and ensuring security and order. They will uphold the highest
determination in combating and suppressing crime, striving to achieve success
in the campaign, accomplish outstanding achievements, and contribute to
maintaining security and order across the province. These efforts aim to ensure
a peaceful and joyful Lunar New Year for the people.
