(binhthuan.gov.vn) The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just requested the heads of departments, agencies, and the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to step up the implementation of registration and activation of electronic identity accounts in the province.

Over the past time, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have directed agencies and levels in the political system to make efforts to coordinate with the police force in performing the task of granting citizen identification and electronic identification accounts. As assessed by the Ministry of Public Security, by May 31, 2023, Binh Thuan province completed 100% of the target of granting citizen identification; by June 19, 2023, it received 699,634/637,607 electronic identification records of citizens, reaching 109.73% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Public Security.

However, the activation rate of electronic identity accounts at level 2 in Binh Thuan province is low; according to statistics of the Ministry of Public Security as of June 19, 2023, the rate of activating electronic identification account on the VNeID application of Binh Thuan province only reached 25.78% of the total number of records received and approved by the Ministry of Public Security. This is a very low rate, if people do not activate accounts, it will directly affect the goal of digital transformation as well as the targets and tasks of the Government's Project 06.

In order to speed up the issuance and activation of electronic identification accounts in the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just requested the heads of departments, agencies, and the chairpersons of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to continue to thoroughly ask cadres, civil servants, public employees, and the armed forces to seriously mobilize relatives and people living near their residence register and activate electronic identification accounts.

Chairpersons of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall assign targets to commune-level units to mobilize people to register and activate e-ID accounts in their localities. In particular, focusing on directing the Youth Union, the Front, the Women's Union, the local police, the commune police, the Working Group for the implementation of Project 06 at the commune level, the Community Digital Technology Group to coordinate with the villages and neighborhoods to strengthen the propaganda and mobilization of the people to register and activate the electronic identity accounts; at the same time, guiding and supporting people in registering and activating e-ID accounts to ensure that 100% of citizens in the area who receive level 2 e-ID accounts are activated for use.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has requested the Department of Information and Communications to continue to coordinate with telecommunications units in the area to standardize mobile subscriber sim cards for citizens to register and activate electronic identity accounts; at the same time, sending messages to mobile subscribers of permanent residents in the province to propagate, mobilize and guide citizens to actively activate eID accounts when receiving messages from VNeID application.
