(binhthuan.gov.vn) Currently, the
rainy weather is a favorable condition for dengue-transmitting mosquitoes to
thrive and easily spread the disease on a large scale. Therefore, besides
strictly implementing measures for COVID-19 to prevention and control, people
should not be subjective or neglect for the measures to prevent and control
dengue fever.
Binh Thuan has not recorded any cases
of death due to dengue fever
According to the Ministry of Health,
in the first 9 months of 2021, the whole country has recorded 49,113 cases of
dengue fever, 18 deaths. Facing this situation, the Ministry of Health has
asked localities to fight against COVID-19 as well as to ensure regular medical
examination and treatment, especially dengue fever, which is on the rise.
In Binh Thuan province, from the
beginning of the year until now, the whole province has recorded 1,263 dengue
fever cases, decreased by 7.5% compared to 2020, with no deaths. Despite the
number of cases in the province decreased, it has increased in some districts
and the city. For example, Duc Linh district is the province's "hot
spot" for this disease with 497 cases, accounting for 39.4% of the total
number of cases in the province. Phan Thiet city, Bac Binh district and Tanh
Linh district all had an increase in the number of cases over the same period
last year. The increase rate ranges from 16.3% - 35.8%. As for Phu Quy, there
were no cases of dengue fever in the same period last year, whereas there is 01
case in the same period this year. The remaining districts and the town all
have relatively decreased in the number of cases.
With the slogan "no mosquitoes,
no larvae, no dengue", people should sleep with mosquito nets, apply
mosquito repellent cream to avoid mosquito bites, regularly clear bushes around
the house, and cover water containers that are unused to avoid mosquito growth./.
