It is forecasted that the dengue epidemic in 2023 will have many complicated
developments, so it is necessary to take the initiative in prevention and
control from the very beginning to be ready to cope with the epidemic,
especially when entering the rainy season.
According to the
Binh Thuan Department of Health, by the end of April 2023, the province
recorded more than 1,800 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever; 6 times higher than
the same period in 2022. Notably, the high number of Dengue hemorrhagic fever
cases are concentrated in the localities of Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan Nam and
Bac Binh.
Up to now, the
number of dengue fever cases has been recorded in all 10/10 localities in the
province. In particular, cases recorded by age under 15 years old account for
over 65% of the total number of cases. Although the number of dengue cases has
increased compared to the same period last year, from the beginning of 2023,
the number of cases has tended to decrease.
In the coming
time, the experts estimate that dengue fever is likely to increase due to the
forecast that the rainy season will come early with increasing amount. To
protect the health of people, their families and those around them, the
Ministry of Health urges people to spend 10 minutes each week to kill larvae
and take preventive measures.
