On the afternoon of March 4th, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee- Duong Van An, Vice
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh and leaders of
departments and agencies received the courtesy visit of Archbishop Marek
Zalewski, the Vatican’s non-resident Special Envoy to Vietnam.
Secretary
of the Provincial Party Committee - Duong Van An expressed his pleasure when
Archbishop Marek Zalewski took time to visit Binh Thuan Provincial Party
Committee. Informing the Archbishop about the potential, strengths, and
socio-economic development over more than 30 years of re-establishment, the
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed that Binh Thuan has always
concerned and cared for material and spiritual life of people, including the
Catholic community. With the policy of freedom of religion, the province always
creates favorable conditions for the parishioners, and the legitimate and legal
religious needs are always paid attention and promptly resolved by the
province.
The
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also acknowledged the contribution
of Catholics to the socio-economic development achievements of the province,
and hoped that in the coming time, Catholic compatriots would continue to unify
the great national unity bloc, join hands to build the homeland to become richer
and stronger.
Archbishop Marek Zalewski expressed his appreciation
for the respectful and thoughtful welcome of the provincial leaders;
congratulated the province's achievements in socio-economic development in
recent years. The Archbishop also highly appreciated the good relations between
the church and local authorities and hoped that the province would continue to
facilitate the activities of local Catholics, thereby contributing more to the
development of the province.
