Be proactive in natural disasters prevention, search and rescue

According to Viet Nam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration – Ministry
of Natural Resources and Environment, the situation of weather and hydrology in
2020 in our country in general and Binh Thuan Province in particular are having
complicated and unpredictable developments due to extreme impacts of climate
change such as drought, coastal erosion, storms, floods, etc....
In
order to proactively prevent and respond effectively to unusual events of
natural disasters, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requests
the heads of Departments, Agencies and People's Committees of districts, towns
and cities to review and complement the
plans and scenarios on natural disaster prevention, search and rescue in 2020
specifically, close to the reality and characteristics of each locality, region
and area in order to prevent and respond quickly and effectively to minimize
the damage caused by natural disasters. In particular, it is necessary to
clearly identify crucial regions and areas frequently affected by natural
disasters; heavy rains cause floods, low lying areas; downstream areas of
irrigation and hydropower reservoirs, when having to discharge floods to
formulate plans, allocate resources, adjust rational plans for the prevention,
response, rescue and relief disaster recovery reaching the highest efficiency;
Besides, it is necessary to reserve foods, medicines and necessities for
regions which are easily divided and directly affected by natural disasters.
Updating
the plan to cope with natural disasters that may occur in the area according to
the possibility of natural disaster risk under the guidance of the Central
Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention and Control ... Being prepared under
the "4 on-site" motto on forces, means and equipment, necessities to
be proactive in rescue activities before, during and after natural disasters.
Strictly maintaining the regime of on duty, firmly catching up the situation of
natural disasters and incidents to advise and propose the party committees and
the authorities to implement measures to response, prevent effectively and
overcome quickly any consequence caused by disasters.
Continuing
to promote the propaganda, education to raise up the awareness and
responsibility of people in natural disasters prevention, response, search and
rescue, etc....
