Beware of tornadoes and strong winds at level 7-8 on the sea

(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, in the past hours, the northeast area of the North East Sea region has had strong northeast winds at level 6, gusts at level 8, with rough waters.

 

Forecasting day and night on November 2, the northeast area of the North East Sea region will have winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8. The water is rough, with waves of 2-3.5m high. In addition, during the day and night of November 2, the middle and southern areas of the East Sea (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago), the waters from Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the gulf of Thailand have showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong winds of level 7-8. Warning of natural disaster risk due to strong winds at sea is at level 2. All boats and other activities in the above sea areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and high waves.

 

Previously, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also gave forecasts on widespread heavy rain in the area from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Dinh, and thunderstorms and local heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts in Quang Tri, Phu Yen, Central Highlands and Southern regions.

 

Accordingly, from the afternoon of November 1 to November 2, in the areas of Quang Tri, Phu Yen, Central Highlands and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms, local heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, over 60mm in some places (Thunderstorms concentrate in the afternoon and evening). Warning of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, and lightning is at level 1. Due to heavy rain, it is necessary to watch for the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding of rice and crop areas in low-lying areas; be aware of heavy rain in a short period of time, causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there are possibilities of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts, flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
