(binhthuan.gov.vn) From September 4 to September 6, at the Asia World-Expo Convention and Exhibition Center in Hong Kong (China), the Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates with the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (Vinafruit) to organize for 19 Vietnamese enterprises to attend the Asia Fruit Logistica 2024. This is the largest and only specialized exhibition in Asia, focusing on fresh fruits, vegetables, agricultural products and related value chains across Asia.
Accordingly, more than 750 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions will come together to introduce the latest products and technologies, injecting new vitality into the global fresh fruit and vegetable industry.
In our province, participating in this Fair, Binh Thuan Dragon Fruit Association displays products such as: fresh dragon fruit, processed dragon fruit products... The purpose is to exchange international fruit and vegetable markets and seek opportunities to develop the dragon fruit industry of Binh Thuan province. According to the Organizing Committee, this is an important annual Fair to promote, enhance and develop the export of Vietnamese fruit products, including dragon fruit.
Mr. Huynh Canh - Chairman of Binh Thuan Dragon Fruit Association, who directly participated the Fair, said: The Fair attracted about 20,000 customers. Binh Thuan province's dragon fruit has been mainly exported to the Chinese market (80%), but is now gradually shifting to India, Thailand, Hong Kong, especially the demanding markets such as Japan, Korea, Australia, America... The province's purpose is to widely promote the image of dragon fruit to seek and expand the market and reduce the dependence on the Chinese market in the future.
It is known that in March 2023, Binh Thuan dragon fruit was recognized as an Asian record (according to the Asian Record Criteria for Cuisine and Specialties). Binh Thuan dragon fruit has a delicious, characteristic flavor and many health benefits. Binh Thuan is a famous locality with many varieties of dragon fruit, such as: White, red, purple dragon fruit with high domestic consumption and export value. In addition to being used for daily consumption, dragon fruit is also processed into other products, such as: Dried dragon fruit, wine, vinegar, jam, fruit juice. Currently, the geographical indication "Binh Thuan dragon fruit" has been protected by the European Union (EU). The image and trademark "Binh Thuan DRAGON FRUIT" have been registered and agreed to be protected by 13 countries and territories, such as: United States, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand.
