Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Agriculture
and Rural Development, the Provincial People's Committee on the management and
protection of forests, forest fire prevention and fighting, forest product
management, and forest land encroachment control.
Over the past time,
the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed functional
forces to strengthen monitoring of the situation and deploy patrols,
inspections and sweeps in areas bordering Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and key areas of
the province to promptly detect, prevent and handle violations in forest
management and protection, forest fire prevention and fighting, forest product
management, and forest land encroachment control.
To carry out the task
of forest development, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has
requested the functional forces to receive contracts to protect 133,401.5
hectares of forest; take care of planted forests on an area of 4,457 ha. Forest
owners have focused on planting and caring for seedlings to serve the 2022
afforestation plan, and have sowed 4.02 million seedlings of all kinds; Up to
now, 3,033 hectares of new production forests have been planted, reaching
112.3% of the plan and planted 733 thousand scattered trees.
The application of
remote sensing technology and the use of satellite images in the management and
monitoring of forest resources has also been implemented quite well by the
authorities. From the beginning of 2022 up to now, the software has detected
and sent warning messages on 166 points of suspicion of changes in the status
of forest resources, and has conducted field inspections and verifications, of
which exploiting plantations: 92 points/ 203.7 hectares; deforestation: 04
points/1.4 ha; forest fire, deforestation: 01 point/2.4 ha; encroachment on
forest land: 03 points/0.9 ha; agricultural production: 09 points/5.73 ha;
other causes: 57 points.
