Binh Thuan has an impressive GRDP growth rate in the Quarter 1 - 2023

(binhthuan.gov.vn) In the first three months of 2023,
Binh Thuan has a growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of
9.86%, ranked second in the country.
According
to the General Statistics Office, in the first quarter of 2023, GRDP increased
in 58 localities and decreased in 5 localities over the same period last year.
Many localities recorded high GRDP growth in the first quarter of 2023, notably
among the top in the country: Hau Giang increased by 12.67%, Binh Thuan
increased by 9.86%, Hai Phong increased by 9.65%, Khanh Hoa increased by 9.07%,
Ca Mau increased by 9.05%… However, in the opposite direction, the GRDP growth
of some localities decreased such as: Quang Ngai (-1.07%), Vinh Phuc (- 2.47%),
Ba Ria - Vung Tau (-4.75%), Quang Nam (-10.88%), Bac Ninh (-11.85%).
According
to the Binh Thuan Statistical Office, in the first quarter of 2023, the
province's socio-economic situation is affected by the common challenges of the
world and domestic economies. However, the province's socio-economic trend
continued to recover and achieved positive results in many fields. Notably, the
industrial production value in the first quarter is estimated at 10,410 billion
VND, reaching 25.16% of the plan, increased by 7.02% over the same period.
Figures
from the Binh Thuan Statistical Office also show that the positive contribution
to the economic growth of the province in the first quarter of 2023 must
include the strong growth of the tourism - service industry (revenue from
tourism in the first quarter of 2023 reached 5,367.3 billion VND, increased 2.8
times compared to the same period in 2022). The electricity production and
distribution industry increased quite high (by 8.25%), this increase
contributed greatly to the overall growth of the industry. In addition, the
impressive growth in total retail sales of consumer goods and services has
contributed to the province's overall growth (in the first quarter of 2023, it
is estimated that total retail sales of consumer goods and services will reach
21,692.2 billion VND, increased by 32.1% over the same period last year)./.
