Binh Thuan is ranked in the top 30 provinces and cities with the best governance quality in the country

On May 9, 2024 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)
and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held a press
conference to announce the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2023 and
Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2023.
In the PCI 2023 rankings, Binh Thuan ranked 18/63
provinces and cities, increased 24 places, reaching 68.06 points, increased 3.67 points compared to 2022. This is Binh Thuan's
highest ranking in the last 15 years. With this position, Binh Thuan has ranked in the top 30 provinces and cities with the best governance
quality in the country.
Among the 10 PCI
2023 criteria, Binh Thuan has 06/10 criteria with increased scores: Market
entry; Transparency; Unofficial expenses; The dynamism of the provincial
government; Business support policies; Labor training. 04/10 criteria with
reduction: Access to land; Time costs; Fair competition; Legal Institutions and
Security and Order.

It is known that
the PCI Index has become a useful tool for policymakers by providing indicators
and data on the quality of economic governance, an important factor for
investment and growth of the private economic sector. The PCI component indexes
have helped to indicate which areas of reform are needed for the province. At
the same time, it shows that the business community appreciates the province's
efforts in implementing solutions for administrative reform and equal business
environment.
Regarding the
Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2023, Binh Thuan ranked 28/63 provinces and
cities, jumped 33 places. This is the second year the Provincial Green Index
(PGI) has been announced.
