Binh Thuan to develop renewable energy in association with environmental protection

Binh Thuan is the province with the highest potential for wind and solar energy
in the country, the average number of wind and sunshine hours is higher than
the average in the South, the wind speed and solar radiation are high and stable,
suitable and favorable for wind and solar power development. With those
advantages, Binh Thuan is considered as a national energy center.
For the development of
wind power potential, since 2010 the Provincial People's Committee has
developed the provincial wind power development planning period to 2020, vision
to 2030; For solar power, the Provincial People's Committee has developed the
plan for the period up to 2020, vision to 2030, the province's goal of
developing solar power to 2030 with a total installed capacity of approximately
6,199 MWp, production electricity equivalent to about 9,769 million kWh; in
which, in the period to 2020, the total installed capacity reaches
approximately 1,662 MWp, the corresponding electricity output is about 2,619
million kWh, and 4,765 MWp and about 7,510 million kWh by 2025.
It can be said that,
with the attention of the Central Government and the close and timely direction
of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, Binh
Thuan has been developing the renewable energy industry with many positive results
and important contributions to the socio-economic development of the province
and ensure electricity supply for the southern key economic region, ensure the national
energy security, strive to shift towards sustainable energy development,
thereby contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's commitment at the UN
Climate Change Summit 2021 in implementing measures to respond to climate
change, developing renewable energy to the achievement of net zero emissions
target by 2050.
