Clean water supply stations for people in areas of warter scarity

In 2020, although there is no El Nino phenomenon, Binh Thuan still has drought
and severity. The flow on rivers and streams declines rapidly after the rainy
season ends, the groundwater level drops down, the heat lasts long. Rainfall from the beginning of the
year until now is 20 - 90% lower than the average of many years. The whole
province has to
cut down nearly 14 thousand hectares of crop area in the Winter-Spring crop and
more than 30,000 hectares of Summer-Autumn rice could not be produced. Along
with that, more than 30 thousand households lack water for domestic use. To gradually overcome the above situation to help people proactively
prevent, combat and gradually adapt to the increasing severe drought; The Chairman of the PPC has just issued a Dispatch assigning the Department of Natural Resources and
Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture
and Rural Development and relevant agencies to study and implement tasks under the responsibility of local authority according to
Decision No. 264/QD-TTg dated March 2, 2015 of the Prime Minister. In case of
difficulties, requesting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for guidance on
implementation.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigns the
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to precide over and coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of
Finance and relevant agencies to study and propose the investment plan for construction of clean water
supply stations for the people in accordance with regulations and the Prime Minister's Decision No. 264/QD-TTg dated
March 2, 2015, ensuring thrifty and efficiency. The implementation results, report to the Provincial
People's Committee before August 31,
2020.
It is known that, the program "Investigation
and search for the underground water sources to supply water for domestic use
in mountainous areas, water scarcity areas" was approved by
the Decision
No. 264/QD-TTg dated March 2, 2015 of the Prime Minister. So far, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment
has received the investigation and search results, there are 15 the drilling wells for underground water exploitation in 04 areas: Son My (04 wells), Tan Thang (04
wells), Thang Hai (04 wells) and Thuan Quy (03 wells)./.
