Consumer price index in July increased by 0.67%


(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the Provincial Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in July 2023 increased by 0.67% over the previous month, by 1.78% over the same period last year and by 0.15% over the December last year. The average CPI of 7 months in 2023 increased by 2.97% over the same period last year.

 

Among the 0.67% increase of CPI in July compared to the previous month, there were 10 commodity groups with increased indexes: Other goods and services increased by 4.09%; Food and catering services increased by 0.93%; Housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 0.4%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.36%; Household appliances increased by 0.35%; Transport increased by 0.35%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.23%; Post and telecommunications increased by 0.07%; Education increased by 0.05%; Medicines and health services increased by 0.02%.

 

There was 01 group with decreased index: Garment, hats and shoes reduced by 0.14%.

 

The main reason for the increase in the consumer price index in July 2023 compared to the previous month was the increase in the prices of food, foodstuffs and electricity during the tourist season. The increase in oil prices by 3.44% over the previous month due to the impact of price adjustments on July 3, 2023, July 11, 2023 and July 21, 2023 also affected July CPI./.
