Continue to advocate, connect, and support women in business startup

On June 30, 2017, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 939/QD-TTg (referred
to as Project 939) on "Supporting women in business startup in the period
2017 - 2025". After 4 years of implementing the Project, the Women's
Unions at all levels in the province have initially helped women break through
psychological barriers as well as external obstacles to realize their potential
in many fields of agriculture, handicrafts, services, biotechnology, foods...
bringing economic benefits, social efficiency to women, families and
communities.
The first step to
implement the Project
In
Binh Thuan province, in order to effectively implement Project 939, on October
1, 2018, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 4163/KH-UBND to
implement Decision No. 939/QD-TTg dated 30 June 2017 of the Prime Minister on
the approval of the Project "Supporting women in business startup in the
period of 2017 - 2025".
Realization
of startup ideas
From 2018 to 2021,
the Provincial Women's Union surveyed of 1,604 business startup ideas in 10
districts, towns and cities. Up to now, the Association has organized 3 "Women's
Entrepreneurship Days" at the provincial level with 36 participating
ideas. In 2018, there were 3 ideas supported by the Central Vietnam Women's
Union with 250 million VND; The Netherlands Development Organization (SNV)
supported 7 ideas in the districts of Tuy Phong, Ham Thuan Bac, Duc Linh, Phu
Quy and Phan Thiet city, with an amount of more than 83 million VND.
