Continuing the model of GlobalGAP dragon fruit production link

Executing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial
Dragon Fruit Research and Development Center and Binh Thuan Fruit and Vegetable
Private Enterprise signed a contract to develop a pilot model of GlobalGAP
dragon fruit production on an area of 18.7 ha in Ham Minh commune, Ham Thuan
Nam district.
According
to the signed contract, in 2012, Binh Thuan Vegetable and Fruits Private
Enterprise invested 100% of the capital to plant 18.7 hectares of dragon fruit,
equivalent to 21,000 pillars, including 3,600 pillars of red dragon fruits and 17,400
pillars of white flesh dragon fruit; at the same time, investing 100% in
infrastructure including the construction of working houses, factories,
installation of 3-phase electrical system, procurement of equipment, tools and
instruments for dragon fruit production... The provincial dragon fruit research
and development center sent the professional and technical consultants on
GlobalGAP standards.
Now,
all 18.7 hectares of white and red dragon fruits have been certified GlobalGAP;
the tree is growing and developing well in accordance with the signed contract.
This pilot model of GlobalGAP dragon production is now a place to visit and
learn experiences for the growers inside and outside the province on planting
and caring for dragon fruits applied automatic water-saving irrigation technology,
and achieved GlobalGAP certification meeting the export requirements to
European and American markets...
It
can be said that the pilot model of GlobalGAP dragon fruit production of the
Provincial Dragon Fruit Research and Development Center and Binh Thuan Fruit
and Vegetable Private Enterprise in recent years has ensured a safe and clean
production environment; the products are not contained pathogens such as
biological toxins, chemicals, so they have been exported to fastidious markets
such as the US, Europe... meeting the needs of consumers who are willing to pay
at higher cost for clean, safe and healthy products.
