In the first phase of vaccination, the province will organize vaccination for children aged 16-17. At the training session, the Deputy Director of the Department of Health - Nguyen Ba Tong said: Recently, the Ministry of Health has allocated 46,800 doses of Pfizer vaccine to Binh Thuan province. This is the vaccine recommended by the Ministry of Health to be used for children in the ages from 12 to 17. Based on the actual situation, Binh Thuan province will firstly deploy vaccination for children aged 16-17 (about 43,000 children).

The localities must conduct the screening task properly to minimize possible side effects after the injection. Pfizer vaccine allocated by the Ministry of Health for this phase will be given priority to children aged 16-17. After completing the vaccination for this group, the Department of Health will redistribute the Pfizer vaccine to continue the vaccination for children in descending order of age.

Pfizer vaccine (Comirnaty vaccine manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTech of the United States) has been recommended by the World Health Organization to vaccinate children and has been used by many countries. This vaccine is safe for children.

According to the information on the Pfizer vaccine, developed in the COVID-19 Vaccination Practice Manual of the National Expanded Immunization Program, this vaccine is intended for use in people 12 years of age and older. The effectiveness of protection against the pathogens of COVID-19 is from 95% to 100% in about 07 days after the second dose./.
