Dengue fever cases nearly tripled over the same period in 2021

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Currently, dengue fever tends to increase sharply in Binh Thuan province.

According to preliminary statistics of the Department of Health, from the beginning of 2022 to September 11, 2022, the province recorded 5,738 cases of dengue fever, increased by 285.36% over the same period in 2021 (1,489 cases). High number of cases were recorded in districts: Tanh Linh (1,565 cases), Duc Linh (882 cases), Bac Binh (825 cases), Ham Thuan Nam (615 cases), Phan Thiet (569 cases). The whole province has recorded 5 deaths in: Duc Linh (2 cases), Ham Tan (2 cases), Ham Thuan Bac (1 case).

According to medical experts, dengue fever occurs in both children and adults. Dengue is characterized by fever, hemorrhage and plasma leakage, which can lead to hypovolemic shock, coagulopathy, multi-organ failure, if not diagnosed early and treated promptly, it is easy lead to death. The disease usually has a sudden onset and progresses through three phases: the febrile phase, the critical phase, and the recovery phase.

As soon as people show signs of sudden high fever, headache, body aches, etc., they should immediately go to a medical facility for diagnostic tests to avoid complications such as shock, multi-organ failure, and bleeding./.
