Directions of the Provincial People’s Committee on the environmental protection measures at Vinh Tan Power Center

To ensure the strict implementation of measures, operating
the environmental protection facilities of the plants at Vinh Tan Power Center,
the Chairman of
the Provincial People's Committee has just issued official letter to request the investors and contractors to continue to coordinate
closely and implement strictly the instructions of the Provincial People's Committee in the monthly announcements and other relevant official documentation.
For
Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, Vinh Tan 1
Power Company Limited, Vinh Tan Thermal Power Project Management Board:
- Urgently completing the plan and installing
the coal warehouse surveillance cameras to ensure monitoring of dust inside and outside the coal
warehouses,
the operation of watering to keep moist for
the coal warehouses. The deadline for completion is on
July 30, 2020.
- Installing electronic board showing automatic environmental
monitoring parameters at the factory to publicize and transparent data, as a
basis for people to check and supervise. Continuing to update the dust
prevention operation process, the plan to cope with abnormal phenomena or dust
incidents arising in reality (this operating procedure must be detailed and available
sufficient operational data according to practical) and
in accordant with the
opinion of the Southern Environment Protection Department - Vietnam Environment
Administration in Official Dispatch No. 251/MTMN-GSMT dated June 18, 2020.
- Installing the automatic monitoring equipment for controlling salinity
of wastewater after treatment to reuse for slag irrigation to monitor closely the
quality of industrial wastewater after treatment is reused, deadline
for completion is in October 2020.
Completing the profile procedures to accelerate the temporary exploitation of
the wharf for serving export of ash and slag by seaway ...
The Provincial People's Committee also assigns the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to
monitor and coordinate with the Vietnam Electricity in supporting the
investment of the warning monitoring systems and publicizing information on environmental
quality such as: the automatic air quality monitoring station in residential areas to regularly assess the quality of
ambient air; the electronic board displays automatic monitoring parameters of
environmental quality of factories, including air quality to publicize and
transparent data, as a basis for people to check and supervise. Coordinating with
the People's Committee of Tuy Phong district to consider the
relocation of households affected by dust and noises from Vinh Tan Power Center to create an environmental safety
corridor for the residential area of Vinh Phuc village, Vinh Tan commune; after
completing the relocation of people, renovating
the area into landscaped greenery to minimize the impact of dust
and noise generated./.
