(binhthuan.gov.vn) In
recent years, durian trees have been planted in many localities in the
province, bringing relatively stable profits to growers.
According to the
Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, the current durian growing area in
the province is about 2,400 ha, concentrated in 3 districts: Ham Thuan Bac, Duc
Linh and Tanh Linh. Of which, 1,800 hectares are in harvesting period with an average
yield of 10 -25 tons/ha, output is about 40,000 tons per year.
By the province's
OCOP program, 4 production affiliates have made efforts to place their durian
products into the OCOP list of Binh Thuan province for the period 2022 - 2025
including: Fresh durian of Da Mi Agricultural Service Business Cooperative; Fresh
durian of Da Mi Agricultural General Cooperative; Durian of Duc Phu
Cooperative; Ta Pua durian of Ta Pua Durian Cooperative Group.
Thanks to natural
conditions and favorable consumption markets for durians in localities in the
province, the growers gain an average income of 180 million VND/ha/year.
