to the provincial Center for Disease Control, by the end of June 26, 2022, the
whole province had recorded 1,344 cases of dengue fever, an increase of more
than 62% over the same period in 2021.
The number of cases
is concentrated in the localities of Phan Thiet, Bac Binh, Ham Thuan Bac, Duc
Linh and Tanh Linh. Only from the beginning of June, the province has recorded
nearly 800 new cases, notably within just 1 week, from June 20 to June 26, 294
cases of dengue fever were recorded across the province.
Up to now, except for
Phu Quy island district, 105 dengue fever outbreaks have been detected and
treated in 9/10 localities of the province, of which the highest is in Tanh
Linh district with 32 outbreaks.
In the context of the
dengue outbreak cycle, in addition to the prevention work that has been
proactively implemented by localities and medical facilities, the Department of
Health has also directed medical examination and treatment facilities across
the province to well organize the collection and treatment of patients,
minimizing the number of deaths due to dengue fever; preparing plans to downline
the treatment, support the grassroots to avoid overload at the hospitals.
This Department also
recommends people to strengthen prevention and control of dengue fever, and not
to be subjective in the context of the rapidly increasing number of cases./.
