Emergency flood alert on La Nga river

(binhthuan.gov.vn) On the evening of July 30, the Provincial Hydro-meteorological Station sent an emergency flood alert on the La Nga River.


Accordingly, in the past 12 hours, the flood water level on La Nga river at Ta Pao hydrological station has continuously increased. The water level measured on La Nga river at Ta Pao hydrological station at 9pm on July 30, 2023 reached 121.07m, 0.07m higher than Alarm level 3.


It is forecasted that in the next 6-12 hours, the flood water level on La Nga River at Ta Pao hydrological station will continue to increase, but it tends to increase slowly because the current rain on the basin has decreased and the peak will reach 121.30m, 0.30m higher than Alarm level 3. In the next 6 - 24 hours, the flood water level fluctuates at a high level and then gradually decreases.


The Provincial Hydro-meteorological Station places warn on the risk of flooding and the possibility of other natural disasters. The area along rivers and streams in the La Nga river basin is at high risk of floods, flash floods, local flooding in low-lying areas, residential areas along rivers and streams; sloping hillside areas are prone to landslides burying, eroding and flooding productive land, buildings and roads.
The likely affected area includes communes: La Ngau, Gia An, Dong Kho, Duc Binh, Duc Phu, Bac Ruong, Gia Huynh, Suoi Kiet in Tanh Linh district, Da Kai commune and Vo Xu town in Duc Linh district.


The warning of disaster is level 2. Preventing the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous communes and local flooding in low-lying and riverside areas in the La Nga river basin.
