Enhancing order and safety for passenger transport activities on inland waterways

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official
letter to request the Departments, departments, agencies and People's
Committees of districts, towns and cities strengthening order and safety for
passenger transport activities on inland waterways.
Accordingly, the Department of
Transport must organize the inspection and supervision of the observance of
business regulations and business conditions on transporting tourists by inland
waterways toward organizations and individuals providing passenger transport
services; strictly handling violations as prescribed by laws. At the same time,
reviewing and checking the operating conditions and management of inland wharfs
and anchorage areas that have been licensed and announced for operation in the
province. Resolutely suspending the operation of inland wharfs that have not
fully met the operating and management conditions.
The People's Committees of districts,
towns and cities shall strengthen propaganda for organizations and individuals
providing passenger transport services by inland waterways, vehicle owners and
drivers to comply with legal provisions on ensuring safety for passenger
transportation by inland waterways. Preparing rescue plans and scenarios when
incidents or accidents occur in the areas under their management.
