(binhthuan.gov.vn) The Visit Vietnam Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Tourism Comes Together" is a cultural, socio-economic and tourism event at national and international scale. In order to ensure this important event to take place safely, the health sector of Binh Thuan province has made careful and thoughtful preparations.

Right from the beginning of January 2023, the provincial Department of Health has directed its affiliated units to develop plans and estimate funds for activities to ensure health work for the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Tourism Comes Together". Up to now, the Department of Health, the Provincial Center for Disease Control, the hospitals and health centers have finished the preparation of health assurance plans in activities before, during and after the opening ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Le Van Hong said: “Regarding the health assurance, the treatment facilities in the province have specific plans to carry out epidemic prevention and control and emergency care, healthcare. Specifically, conducting medical supervision to detect early disease cases and handle epidemics according to regulations; preparing plans to respond to epidemic situations on the scale of the whole province and each locality; mobilizing human resources; preparing sufficient medicines, chemicals, supplies and medical equipment; backing up hospital beds for unexpected situations. The health sector also arranged an out-hospital emergency team ready for giving first aid and transporting patients when required by the Department of Health and competent agencies, and at the same time developing a plan to respond to emergencies and disasters, if any".

It is forecasted that there will be a large number of domestic and foreign tourists coming to Binh Thuan in the Visit Vietnam Year 2023. Therefore, the works of ensuring environmental sanitation and ensuring food safety throughout the event has been concerned and conducted by the provincial health sector.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Health Le Van Hong: “Public health units throughout the province have developed plans to carry out environmental sanitation and food safety activities during the Visit Vietnam Year 2023. Specifically, preparing for cleaning and disinfecting at event venues; Sanitizing the environment, killing disease-carrying insects, monitoring water sources and domestic water quality at all venues and accommodation of delegates and guests”.

Along with that, ensuring food safety, preventing food poisoning and food-borne diseases, inspecting and supervising food safety at restaurants and food service establishments, tracing origin of raw materials and food supplies to restaurants and food service establishments at event venues; arranging food safety inspection teams before and during the events, sampling for rapid chemical and microbiological testing of food samples, food containers, and water samples; the Health Centers shall assign and coordinate with relevant units to arrange standing teams at the eating and resting places of delegates and guests attending events. Preparing handling plans on food poisoning situations occurring in the province, each district, city and town. On this occasion, the health sector will coordinate with relevant units to strengthen information, propaganda and advocacy for the implementation of regulations on ensuring food safety in the province," added by the Deputy Director of the Department of Health Le Van Hong.

In order to strengthen human resources for the health sector during this time, besides the public health system, there is also the participation of the private health system in the province.

About this work, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Le Van Hong affirmed: “Responding to and joining hands with authorities at all levels and sectors to organize the Visit Vietnam Year 2023, private hospitals have coordinated well in preparing plans to ensure emergency, medical examination and treatment during the events of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023. Especially, preparing sufficient hospital beds, medicines, chemicals, supplies, equipment and human resources”.

In 2023, Binh Thuan is selected as the host of the Visit Vietnam Year with the theme "Binh Thuan - Green Tourism Comes Together". The opening ceremony of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Tourism Comes Together” will be held at 19:30 on March 25, 2023 at NovaWorld Phan Thiet, Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city.

This is an important event of Binh Thuan province in 2023. The well organization of the Visit Vietnam Year, with a focus on the Opening Ceremony, will contribute to promote, recover and develop the country's tourism industry in general and Binh Thuan in particular after the heavy impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; strongly attracting tourists, as well as domestic and international investors to Binh Thuan./.
