Farmers' worries about the yellow apricot trees for Tet

is more than a month left until the Lunar New Year 2023, but many gardeners
growing yellow apricot trees in Duc Linh district - Binh Thuan province are
worried and anxious because the flowers bloom early.

Binh Thuan province is considered as a land with many ancient yellow apricot
trees with beautiful shape and canopy, many households growing yellow apricot
with an area of several hundred m2 to several thousand m2. Compared to the same
period in previous years, farmers have not entered the stage of picking leaves
(the period of picking leaves from the 14-16 of lunar December every year), but
due to the two end season rains at the end of lunar October and the beginning
of lunar November, many yellow apricot gardens have bloomed at nearly 90%.

Many households
growing yellow apricots in the communes of Me Pu, Da Kai, Nam Chinh, Duc Hanh,
Vo Xu town, Duc Tai have fallen into a similar situation. Mr. Dang Ngoc Linh -
Chairman of Me Pu Commune Farmers' Association said that due to the unusually
rainy and sunny weather, most of the yellow apricot gardens in the commune
bloomed; usually in lunar Ausgust - September, the well taken care apricot
trees will bloom a few buds, the phenomenon of apricot blooming before lunar
December is very rare; the apricot growers
are losing hope in the income from selling yellow apricots on the occasion of
the Lunar New Year 2023.
Meanwhile, the labor
cost is high, and the fertilizer price is also nearly double compared to the
previous year. The difficult economic situation makes buyers come to visit the
garden and place order for yellow apricot on the occasion of Tet is very few.
Farmers' anxiety about a year of loss on income is already exist.
