First Quarter of 2021: Number of tourists is estimated at 1,031 thousand arrivals

to the Department of Statistics of the province, in March, tourism activities
in the province were more positive than the previous month and showed up an
increasement compared to the same period last year, the number of tourists
increased again, mainly visitors in the province and some neighboring provinces
have not detected Covid-19. However, in the first quarter of 2021, tourism
activities of the province still fell deeply compared to the same period last
year, the tourism industry of the province could not recover.
In particular, the
number of tourists is estimated to reach 319.5 thousand in March, over 8.4%
compared to the previous month and 14.8% to the same period last year; number
of tourist overnight stays is estimated at 511.9 thousand, over 10.18% compared
to the previous month and 13.19% to the same period last year. Accumulation of
the first 3 months of the year, tourist arrivals were estimated at 1,031
thousand, 20.55% lower than the same period last year, number of tourist
overnight stays is estimated at 1,737.6 thousand, 19.61% lower than the same
period last year. As a result, revenue from tourism activities in March is
estimated at VND 680.3 billion, over 5.53% compared to the previous month and
22.26% lower than the same period last year; Accumulation for the first 3
months is estimated at VND 2,253.6 billion, 35.51% lower than the same period
last year.
For the situation of
international visitors, in March the number of international visitors decreased
sharply compared to the previous month, estimated at 1.8 thousand arrivals,
74.19% lower than the previous month and 90.12% lower than the same period last
year; number of tourist overnight stays is estimated at 6.6 thousand, decreased
73.94% over the previous month and 88.89% to the same period last year. Accumulation
for the first 3 months of the year is estimated at 11.4 thousand arrivals,
92.27% lower than the same period last year; number of tourist overnight stays is
estimated at 42.7 thousand, decreased 90.81% over the same period. Currently,
the number of international tourists coming to the province are mainly foreign
experts, foreign business owners, embassies of countries and foreigners working
in Vietnam ...
