Flood warning on downstream of Song Dinh 3 Lake

(binhthuan.gov.vn) The Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Company Limited has just announced a flood warning on the downstream of Song Dinh 3 Lake.

 

Accordingly, outside the Philippine Sea, the super typhoon Mawar is currently approaching the Philippines. As forecasted, this is the strongest storm recorded since 2021. Due to the influence of Mawar, heavy rain may appear in the coming days in the province. In case of heavy rain in upstream, the amount of water entering the lake and flowing over spillways will be large, which will affect the people along the flood route in the downstream.

 

In order to actively respond to rain and flood events and avoid damage to people in the affected areas, the Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. has requested the People's Committee of Ham Tan district and the People's Committee of La Gi town to warn people along the route of Song Dinh to know and prepare proactive safety plans.

 

According to Exploiting Irrigation Works One Member Co., Ltd, Song Dinh 3 reservoir, Ham Tan district is designed with a normal water level rise of +45.95m. However, the lake bed has not been fully compensated, so water is only stored up to the elevation +42.00m, to avoid flooding the cultivated area of the people in the lake bed, the water entering the lake will automatically flow over the threshold at the elevation +40.00m.
