Focus on implementing the project of Phu Quy Storm Shelter and Fishing Port (Phase 2)

(binhthuan.gov.vn) The project of Phu Quy storm shelter and fishing port (phase 2) is approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2022 with a total investment of 446,716 million VND.
The goal of the project is to build a storm shelter for Phu Quy fishing vessels with scale of 1,000 vessels/600CV for fishermen in Binh Thuan province and neighboring provinces in seafood exploitation activities in the South-Central Coast, Truong Sa, ensuring safe shelter from storms; minimize damage to people, property and means of fishing activities; contributing to protect the national sovereignty over seas and islands. The project construction period is in 04 years (2023 - 2026). The Provincial Management Board for Investment-Construction Projects on agricultural works and rural development is the investor.
The project is divided into 02 construction packages; package No. 18 is the construction of dredging items, buoy system, and coastal protection embankment, including: Dredging of anchorage basins; dredging shipping channels; shore protection embankment, combined with ship landing dock; system of anchor buoys and channel signaling buoys; ground leveling. Package No. 19 is the construction of technical infrastructure, including: Water supply system; medium-voltage lines; electrical transformer station; low voltage lines, lighting; wastewater treatment station; rainwater and wastewater drainage systems; water tanks, pumping stations; internal roads, administration buildings, restrooms, security posts; fence gates.
According to the Provincial Management Board for Investment-Construction Projects on agricultural works and rural development, package No. 18 has been organized for bidding and handed over the construction site on December 15, 2023. Currently, the construction unit is implementing the construction of dredging, leveling and constructing the submersible caisson.
Package No. 19 has been organized for bidding and handed over the construction site from December 29, 2023. Currently, the construction unit is constructing the management buildings and fences, casting road pavement components.
The 2024 capital plan allocated to implement this project is 80 billion VND. As of April 25, 2024, it has been disbursed 41.2 billion VND, reaching 51.50% of the year's plan.
In the coming time, the Provincial Management Board for Investment-Construction Projects on agricultural works and rural development will continue to urge construction units to speed up the construction progress of the Phu Quy storm shelter and fishing port (phase 2) to ensures 100% disbursement of the assigned capital plan in 2024.
