to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the winter-spring
crop 2022-2023, the province will sow 47,010 hectares of short-term crops, of
which food crop is 39,150 hectares. At the same time, it will sustainably
develop perennial crop, and not expand new planting areas, but focus on
intensive farming, caring crops, improving product quality and food safety.
In order to achieve the production
targets in the winter-spring crop 2022-2023, in the coming time, districts,
towns and cities must focus on reviewing and arranging the sowing seasons and
the structure of rice varieties in accordance with the situation of each time
and locality.
For perennial crop, the Agriculture
and Rural Development Sector recommends localities to strengthen forecasting of
pests and diseases; firmly grasping the developments of the weather, climate
change to prepare timely response solutions.
It is known that the current useful
capacity at 18 reservoirs and dams in the province is 286.27 million m3/362.37
million m3, reaching 79.00% of the designed useful capacity, 37.38 million m3 higher
than the same period, which can ensure water supply for the winter-spring crop
2022-2023.
