Greening vegetation for the environment protection

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Currently, our province's total forested land area is 336,132 ha, of which natural forest area is 288,564 ha; planted forest and scattered trees are 47,568.23 ha. Forest coverage rate of the whole province reaches 43%; If including industrial plants and perennial trees, the green area coverage rate of the province is 55%.

However, the province also has about 150,000 hectares of sandy soil and arid rocky mountains, accounting for 19% of the total natural area, of which 25,757 hectares of degraded land. The phenomenon of desertification and land degradation is attacking the northern regions of our province such as Tuy Phong and Bac Binh districts, thousands of hectares of sand caves and mobile sand dunes affect the lives and agricultural cultivation of the people in the areas.

In order to overcome the risk of desertification and the situation of natural disasters occurring frequently, increasingly, and complicatedly on sandy coastal areas, the province has determined that the afforestation and plantings to cover vegetation are sustainable methods to protect the environment, improve the ability to absorb and store water, minimize the water evaporation of land, block the wind and reduce the process of desertification, jumping - flying sand...
