Ham Tan district discovered 03 cases of illegal mineral exploitation in early 2023

In January 2023, the functional units of Ham Tan district inspected and
detected 03 cases of illegal mineral exploitation. Currently, these cases are
being verified and handled according to their competence.
Immediately
after discovering the above cases, the District People's Committee directed the
Tan Duc Commune People's Committee to coordinate with the Provincial Public
Security in organizing the temporary seizure of 14,800 m3 of
construction sand at the sand mine of Vu Gia Phat Company for the verification
and settlement. The district's inter-sectoral inspection team is continuing to
verify and complete the process of handling cases of illegal mineral mining in
large scale (with signs of crime) as reflected by press agencies.
In
order to strengthen the state administration on mineral resources, Ham Tan
district will focus on reviewing and post-auditing the common building material
trading sites in the district that have not yet met relevant regulations (procedures
for land and environment) to take remedial measures as prescribed.
Strengthening
inspection and supervision of the observance of the provisions of law in mining
activities for mines which have been granted mining licenses in the district;
reviewing the mine sites that have been granted mining licenses, mineral
exploration licenses that have not been operated so far to request the
Provincial People's Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment
to withdraw the project and re-issue it to organizations with more capacity.
Focusing
on directing the verification and handling of denunciations of illegal mineral
mining activities by citizens of Tan Hoa village, Song Phan commune and
verifying and completing procedures to handle cases of illegal mineral mining
in large volumes (with signs of crime) as reflected by press agencies.
Completing
the inspection of state administrative responsibilities on minerals in Thang
Hai commune.
The
district police shall strengthen the local situation grasp; inspect and handle
acts of illegally transporting, storing, exploiting minerals under proposed
plan.
The
People's Committees of communes and townships shall actively coordinate with
the district's interdisciplinary land inspection team to examine and prepare procedures
on handling of administrative violations in the field of land related to
mineral activities according to their prescribed competence in Decree No.
91/2019/ND-CP dated November 19, 2019 of the Government (amended and
supplemented in Decree No. 04/2022/ND-CP dated January 6, 2022), in which:
Focusing on inspecting and strictly handling the improper use of land at
construction material trading sites, acts of land destruction, etc. considering
the land recovery for cases of improper land use related to illegal mineral
activities for a long time in the spirit of direction of the Provincial
People's Committee, Department of Natural Resources and Environment./.
