Ham Than Nam district to overcome urgently the consequences caused by thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusty wind

04/7, according to the Commanding Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and
Rescue of Ham Thuan Nam district, from 15:00 to about 16:30, on 03/7, there
were thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusty wind in the district, affecting
severely to the communes of Ham Can, Ham Thanh, Ham My, Ham Minh, Tan Thuan and
Thuan Nam town.
According to
statistics, the estimated damage in the whole district is about 880,000,000
VND. In which, thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusty wind blew the roofs of
68 houses off. Ham My commune was the most damaged area with 34 houses having
their roofs blown off, of which 9 houses having their main roofs completely
blown off, 25 houses having part of the main roofs and the eaves blown off. In
addition, 3 propaganda panels at the Commune People's Committee fell down, and
some billboards and signboards of business households in the commune were
damaged. More seriously, in Dang Thanh village, Muong Man commune, 01 person
died due to electric shock while sheltering from the rain.
Currently, the
locality has been actively coordinating with the functional agencies to inspect
and estimate the damages, and to support people to overcome consequences caused
by the natural disaster. Particularly, Ham My Commune People's Committee to
cooperate with the associations and unions of the commune to visit and
encourage the family of the deceased. At the same time, to coordinate with the
People's Committee and the Police of Muong Man commune to examine the scene and
transfer the record to the district police for settlement.
