Ham Thuan Bac district was flooded with nearly 2,000 hectares of agricultural area

(binhthuan.gov.vn) According to the People's Committee of Ham Thuan
Bac district, from April 30, 2022 to May 20, 2022, heavy rain occurred lasting
long in the district; also it combined with flood discharge of Suoi Da lake,
causing heavy impacts for downstream communes. Heavy rain in the field combined
with water from the upstream of rivers and streams has caused local flooding
and inundation, damaging many crop areas of the summer-autumn crop of 2022 in
11 communes and towns, including: Ham Hiep, Ham Thang, Thuan Minh, Ma Lam,
Thuan Hoa, Ham Duc, Ham Chinh, Ham Tri, Ham Phu, Hong Liem and Hong Son. In
particular, heavy rain lasting for many days has flooded many sesame areas of
people in communes: Thuan Hoa and Hong Liem.
Facing the above
situation, the District People's Committee has directed the District Commanding
Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, the Division of
Agriculture and Rural Development, and functional units to coordinate with the
People's Committees of communes and townships to mobilize the onsite pioneer
force to support immediately people in
disaster-affected areas and guide people to clear canals and sewers to drain
water faster and reduce damages; placing signs and warning wires in dangerous
areas.
The People's
Committee of the district has requested the People's Committees of communes and
townships to conduct duties seriously and inform people on the possible weather
and natural disasters in order to proactively prevent and minimize damages.
