Ham Thuan Bac recorded an increase in the number of dengue fever

number of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases in Ham Thuan Bac
district increased sharply, with deaths recorded. This locality predicts that
the situation of DHF in the near future will continue to be complicated and
unpredictable.
Since the beginning
of the year, Ham Thuan Bac has recorded 436 cases of DHF; in which 03 severe
cases, 01 death. The number of cases increased by more than 300% over the same
period in 2021 (104 cases), with 37 outbreaks, an increase of 24 outbreaks
compared to the same period in 2021 (13 outbreaks). The communes with high number
include Thuan Hoa 122 cases, Ham Tri 44 cases, Ham Duc 40 cases, Ham Thang 31
cases, Phu Long 23 cases (1 severe case, 1 death). However, highland communes
such as Dong Giang and Dong Tien have not recorded any DHF cases since 2016; La
Da commune recorded 1 outbreak in 2022.
In order to actively
prevent and control the disease, the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac
district requested the Health Center of Ham Thuan Bac district to fully prepare
equipment, chemicals and means to be ready to respond when an epidemic occurs; strengthen
surveillance of epidemic, early detection of DHF cases to take immediate
measures to avoid spreading on a large scale; consolidate the mobile DHF
prevention and control teams to ready to respond and handle when epidemic occurs,
and provide support to lower levels when necessary. In addition, each resident should
sleep with net and maintain personal hygiene to avoid mosquito bites./.
