Heavy rain poses risks of flooding, flash floods, and landslides in many localities

According to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, last night (01/10) and this morning (02/10), the area from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, the Central Highlands and the South had showers and thunderstorms, local heavy to very heavy rain. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting forecasts that the day and night of 02/10, in the areas from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, the Central Highlands and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms, local heavy rain with a rainfall of 20 - 40mm, in some places over 70mm (rainy time is concentrated in the afternoon and night).

 

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong winds. Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes and lightning is level 1.

 

Previously, in the afternoon of 01/10, the Binh Thuan Hydro-meteorological Station sent warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to floods or currents in the province.
