Implementation of reproductive health care activities in Binh Thuan province in 2024

(binhthuan.gov.vn) The Provincial People's Committee has just issued the implementation plan on reproductive health care activities in the province in 2024.

The plan aims to improve reproductive health, focusing on improving the health of mothers, newborns and children, prioritizing to disadvantaged areas to reduce disparities in health indicators, nutrition, maternal and child mortality among regions towards achieving sustainable development goals by 2030.

This plan will be implemented in 2024 with specific objects as follows:

Direct intervention subjects: Women of childbearing age, pregnant women, mothers with small children, pre-marital, adolescents, young adults.

Indirect intervention subjects: Medical staffs at reproductive health care facilities throughout the province.

Subjects related to reproductive health care activities: Policy makers related to reproductive health care activities; parents, teachers, youth union officials, women's union officials.

Specific targets of the plan include: Percentage of women giving birth receiving at least 4 prenatal check-ups in 3 periods: 83%; Delivery rate delivered by trained medical staff: 99.6%; Percentage of mothers and newborns receiving care at home after birth in the first 6 weeks: 75%; Maternal mortality ratio: < 20/100,000 live births; Mortality rate of children under 1 year old: < 11‰; At least 40% of people eligible for screening are periodically screened for breast and cervical cancer according to screening guidelines for each type of cancer.
