Implementation of the project "Capacity strengthening for drug prevention and control in schools up to 2025"

The Provincial People's Committee has just promulgated
the implementation plan of the project "capacity strengthening for drug
prevention and control in schools up to 2025".
The plan has common goals:
Raising awareness, knowledge, skills and responsibilities of school members in
the prevention and control of drug abuse for the young generation inside and
outside the school. Coordinating to mobilize the strength of the whole
political system to join hands in drug prevention and control to create a
nationwide movement and build a self-defense mechanism for the whole society
against the onslaught of drugs. Synchronously applying solutions to prevent
drugs from affecting the young generation and from entering schools, especially
schools in areas with complicated drug crimes to contribute to reduce the
number of addicts and drug users in the province.
Specific objectives
include: 100% of schools identifying the current situation of drug prevention
and control (advantages, disadvantages, causes of limitations, weaknesses);
effectiveness of propaganda and education on drug prevention and control for
school members, thereby proposing new, more general and effective approaches.
100% of schools organizing propaganda, education and dissemination of knowledge
on drug prevention and control with forms and contents suitable to schools.
At least 90% of school
officials, teachers, lecturers and staffs are equipped with knowledge and
skills in drug prevention and control to be able to carry out the strengthening
of the integration of propaganda and education on drug prevention and control
in mainstream teaching, experience activities and problems solving related to
drugs for pupils and students when needed. 100% of schools establishing the
Steering Committee for drug prevention and control to perform regular tasks
associated with the school's tasks and activities in every school year;
establishing hotlines to receive information and feedback, advice, support and
respond appropriately and promptly to matters related to drug prevention and
control in schools.
Accordingly, the scope of
implementation is defined as propaganda and education activities to improve
knowledge, awareness and sense of observance of the law on drug prevention and
control for students, teachers, administrators, managers and employees carried
out in general education institutions, continuing education institutions;
universities and colleges.
