Implementation on the policy of legal aid for the elderly

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Recently,
the Department of Justice has issued a plan to implement the legal aid policy
for the elderly who are eligible for legal aid in the 2021-2025 period.
The plan sets out
requirements: The content of legal aid activities must be specific, suitable to
the characteristics of the elderly and in accordance with the provisions of the
Law on Legal Aid 2017 and effectively implement Decision No. 1334 /QD-BTP dated
June 10, 2022 of the Ministry of Justice and Plan No. 766/KH-UBND dated March
16, 2022 of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province on the National
Action Program on the elderly for the period of 2021 – 2025. Integrating legal
aid for the elderly with other legal aid activities in the process of implementing
the legal aid policy for the elderly and the elderly with financial
difficulties in order to ensure feasibility and effectiveness . Ensuring that
elderly people eligible for legal aid receive legal aid free of charge in legal
aid cases.
Regarding the
execution: The provincial State Legal Aid Center is responsible for assisting
the Department of Justice to monitor, guide, urge, examine, evaluate and report
on the implementation of this Plan. Annually, the provincial State Legal Aid
Center integrates the report on the results of free legal aid for the elderly
with financial difficulties into the operation report of the Department of
Justice.
