The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision
approving the list of households eligible for support in eliminating temporary
and dilapidated housing for revolution contributors, poor households, near-poor
households, and other disadvantaged households in Bình Thuận during the
2024–2025 period.
Accordingly, during the 2024–2025 period, Bình Thuận will support the
elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing for 1,964 households,
including revolution contributors, poor households, near-poor households, and
other disadvantaged households. The distribution is as follows: Phan Thiết: 104
households; La Gi: 10 households; Bắc Bình: 454 households; Hàm Tân: 88
households; Hàm Thuận Bắc: 290 households; Hàm Thuận Nam: 281 households; Tuy
Phong: 297 households; Tánh Linh: 440 households.
According
to the Provincial People's Committee's plan, the support for building and
repairing temporary and dilapidated houses for revolution contributors, poor
households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households aims to provide
safe and stable housing. This initiative helps residents secure their living
conditions, focus on labor, production, and business activities, improve their
income, and achieve sustainable poverty reduction. It also contributes to the
successful implementation of sustainable poverty alleviation policies and
social welfare across the province. At the same time, the program seeks to
raise awareness and responsibility among Party committees, authorities,
political and social organizations, businesses, and society as a whole toward
supporting revolution contributors, poor and near-poor households, and those
facing housing difficulties. This effort reflects profound humanitarian values
and embodies the spirit of solidarity - “Mutual support and compassion” and
“Leaving no one behind.”
The plan
is being implemented comprehensively at three levels (provincial, district, and
communal) to achieve three key objectives by the end of 2025: (i) Providing
housing support for revolution contributors; (ii) Supporting housing under
national target programs; and (iii) Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses
for residents. This initiative aims to effectively reduce the multidimensional
poverty rate across the province.
Regarding
financial support, the assistance for house repairs is 30 million VND per
house, while newly built houses receive 60 million VND each. The funding comes
from multiple sources, including a 5% budget savings from 2024, the Gratitude
Fund, the Fund for the Poor at both provincial and local levels, and social
contributions from organizations, individuals, and businesses.
