According to the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district, the road DT.714 was
invested and built in 2005, connecting National Highway 28 and National Highway
55, with a length of about 40.9 Km; it is asphalt road, with the road surface of
6 m and the roadbed of 9 m. The road passes through the mountainous communes of
Ham Phu, Dong Tien, Dong Giang, La Da and Da Mi to serve the needs of
socio-economic development as well as defense and security purposes.
After a long time of
use, this road was damaged and degraded, so the Central Government and the
province had invested to upgrade, renovate and expand with a length of
30.6/40.9 Km, surface of 8 m, road bed of 9 m, suitable to the provincial
traffic development planning. Particularly for the remaining section with a
length of about 10.3 Km (from Km 9+200 to Km 19+500) has not yet been invested,
the section is now degraded, seriously damaged, some places are not
well-maintained, the road is convex and concave, and very difficult for people
to travel and transport goods, with high risk of traffic incidents.
Therefore, the
People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district has proposed the Provincial
People's Committee to consider and submit to the Provincial People's Council
for approving the undertakings to invest the remaining section of the DT.714
with a length of 10.3 Km.
The investment in
construction, upgrading, renovating and expanding the road DT.714, about 10.3
km long is necessary, meets the expectations of the people in the region, and
creating favorable conditions for circulation, reducing the risk of traffic
unsafety, and facilitating socio-economic development of the locality and
surrounding areas.
