La Gi drastically to implement solutions on prevention of IUU fishing

(binhthuan.gov.vn) Over the past time, the implementation of tasks and
solutions to prevent and fight the illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU)
fishing, especially preventing fishing vessels and fishermen from exploiting illegal
seafood in foreign waters has been taken seriously by La Gi town. As a result,
in nearly 2 years (from July 2019 to May 2021), the town has not had any
fishing vessel or fisherman who violated foreign waters for illegal seafood
exploitation.
However, from the end
of 2021 and the first days of 2022, the town has had 03 cases of violation of foreign
waters being arrested and handled, which has affected the general efforts to
combat IUU fishing of the locality and the province.
In order to put an
end to the situation of fishing boats and fishermen in La Gi violating (IUU)
fishing, recently, the La Gi Town Party Committee has asked the entire
political system of the town to focus on leading and directing drastically the
implementation of solutions on the prevention and combat of IUU fishing; From
February 2022 onwards, it is necessary to stop the situation of La Gi fishing
vessels and fishermen violating foreign waters.
