(binhthuan.gov.vn) On the morning of March 31, 2023, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh chaired a meeting on the project of tourism type and product diversification of Binh Thuan province to 2025, vision to 2030 (hereinafter referred to as the Project) reported by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST).

Reported at the meeting by the consulting unit, the project aims to build a system of tourism products and types of Binh Thuan province in a professional direction, attracting investment; developing typical tourism products of the province such as resort tourism, MICE tourism, Wellness tourism, spiritual tourism, marine and forest ecotourism. Since then, bringing Binh Thuan tourism to become a spearhead economic sector, identifying typical tourism products for the province.

On the basis of the summary of the Project, the participants at the meeting focused on discussing and providing additional comments on the Project. According to the delegates, the project should mention more advantages of the transport infrastructure that is about to come into operation in the province (highway, airport) for the development of tourism in the province; researching to add into the Project the night tourism activities. In addition, the Project needs to clarify the limitations and weaknesses of the province's tourism industry in recent times.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh acknowledged and highly appreciated the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant departments and agencies for actively researching and completing the draft of Project. The Provincial leaders also highly appreciated the dedication of the consulting unit in the process of drafting the Project.

In order for the Project to be approved, putting into practice, creating typical tourism products for Binh Thuan province, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the consulting unit to absorb the comments at the meeting, reviewing the legal basics as well as the experience of other localities on tourism development to amend the Project.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the Project needs to follow the approved provincial plannings; refer to the Binh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period of 2021-2030, vision to 2050 as well as other master plans on electricity and minerals; researching and inheriting previous tourism development projects. In addition, the Project needs to properly assess the current situation of the tourism industry in Binh Thuan province, thereby performing well the forecasts for developing the tourism industry in the right direction; clarifying the link between Binh Thuan tourism with regions; it should clearly state the short-term and long-term goals and solutions.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the consulting unit to urgently collect opinions from departments, agencies and localities on the Project. By the end of April, the Project must be completed and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee./.
